Wisla Krakow advance after late heroics in other Group K match

Wisla Krakow did what they had to do and beat Twente 2-1 in Krakow but Wisla also needed some big-time help in the other Group K match.

Fulham took on Odense in the other Group K match, with Fulham needing a win. The match started off well from Fulham, taking a 2-0 lead into halftime. However, in the second half, Odense pulled back by one goal when Hans Henrik Andreasen scored in the 64th minute off a free-kick. Being down 2-1, Odense never gave up, and in the dieing moment of the match, the Danish side pulled back and Djiby Fall scored in the 93rd minute to tie the match up at 2-2.

Switching over to the Wisla Krakow-Twente match, Wisla scored first and took a 1-0 lead in the 12th minute when Lukasz Gargula scored. In the 39th minute, Twente pulled back with Luuk de Jong scoring a incredible bicycle-kick goal. A minute after halftime, Tzvetan Genkov scored to give Wisla a 2-1 lead.

With the win and a Fulham draw, Wisla Krakow finish second in Group K and qualify for the Round of 32.

Wisla: Sergei Pareiko - Marko Jovanovic, Junior Diaz, Gordan Bunoza, Gervasio Nunez - Rafal Boguski (61. Patryk Malecki), Cezary Wilk, Tomas Jirsak (90. Daniel Brud), Lukasz Gargula, Maor Melikson (89. Andraz Kirm) - Tsvetan Genkov
