Poland national team defender Sebastian Boenisch will not be offered a contract extension and will most likely leave Werder Bremen during the summer.
Werder's sporting director Klaus Allofs announced that four current players will not be offered contract extensions. One of the four players is Sebastian.Boenisch, whose contract expires om June 30th.
Boenisch, who has been battling knee injuries, retunred to Werder's first team this winter after being out for about 20 months. He was a regular at the club before the injury-bug hit him.
Boenisch joined Werder in 2007 after spending two years with Schalke 04.
