Poland rises in latest FIFA rankings

After a winless Euro 2012, the Polish national team still managed to rise 8 spots in the latest FIFA rankings.

With two draws and a loss in the tournament, Poland still jumped from 62nd to 54th in the rankings, which also marks there highest rank since September 2009 when they were ranked 36th.

Poland's next opponent is Estonia, who are currently ranked 56th.

Poland's World Cup 2014 qualifying group is ranked as following: England 4th, Ukraine 46th, Montenegro 50th, Moldova 139th and San Marino 205th.

  1. FIFA rankings should take account of countries preparing to host a tournament--no matches for points.

Poland realistically should be in the 30-35 range.

  2. Its true.

However our qualifying group will not be a walk in the park. We really have to bring our best game against Ukraine and Montenegro no excuses. They will want to qualify as well its going to be a fierce battle between these 3 teams for the second place spot. I suppose if we can't even make the top 2 in this group then we don't even deserve to be in the World Cup. I sure hope we make it though.

  4. In the 30-35 range? And what range if they fail to defeat the Ukraine and/or Montenegro?
