Returning to the national team are goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny and defender Sebastian Boenisch, who received his first call up since Euro 2012. Szczesny has missed Poland's last six games due to injuries.
Missing from the list is Eugen Polanski, who lately has it up the hill at German side Mainz.
Here is the first part of Poland's roster:
Goalkeepers: Wojciech Szczesny (Arsenal), Przemyslaw Tyton (PSV Eindhoven)Fornalik will complete his roster with Ekstraklasa players after their friendly with Romania on Feb. 2.
Defenders: Lukasz Piszczek (Borussia Dortmund), Damien Perquis (Real Betis), Marcin Wasilewski (Anderlecht), Kamil Glik (FC Torino), Sebastian Boenisch (Bayer Leverkusen), Marcin Komorowski (Terek Grozny)
Midfielders: Jakub Blaszczykowski (Borussia Dortmund), Ariel Borysiuk (FC Kaiserslautern), Adrian Mierzejewski (Trabzonspor), Grzegorz Krychowiak (Stade Reims), Kamil Grosicki (Sivasspor), Ludovic Obraniak (Bordauex)
Forwards: Robert Lewandowski (Borussia Dortmund), Artur Sobiech (Hannover 96), Arkadiusz Milik (Bayer Leverkusen)
where is Bartosz salamon?
ReplyDeleteNo Kuszczak or Boruc? What happened with Fornalik only calling up players that actually play? Tyton hasn't played in three months...
ReplyDeleteI thought that Boruc would receive a call.. I am a big fan of Tyton, and even if I can't complain about him, he will lose his spot very fast.. The same for Wasilewski..
ReplyDeleteThought Salamon might get a call.
ReplyDeleteI hope the Salamon omission is related to his impending transfer. More likely, Fornalik doesn't rate him. This is frustrating.
ReplyDeleteHopefully he gets a late call-up.
Can't understand the Polish soccer community's obsession with Boruc. Vastly overrated.
ReplyDeleteGuys, why would Salamon get the call vs Ireland? The only way I see him playing with our Euro caliber players is if he plays a few national games with the B-team.
ReplyDeleteSalamon plays in the Seria B still, ok he's a big prospect but wait another year with him. Krychowiak was always on the cusp of joining the NT as well and this year he finally stepped up so just cool off on Salamon.
ReplyDeleteHowever does anyone else notice Polanski isn't on that list. Like really Fornalik, 2 Bundesliga Borysiuk over Polanski and don't give me that he doesn't start regularly bullshit because clearly this guy is a hypocrite when Boruc has been starting in the EPL and been playing good over an Everdise bench warmer Tyton. Fucking Fornalik is starting to pick favorites.
You're Right!! I can't believe he didn't call Polanski up, he has always made an impact when he is on the pitch.
DeletePolanski is suspended for the next qualifier due to card accumulation. He wasn't expected to get a call-up since Fornalik needs to try other options before the Ukraine game.
DeleteThis makes the omission of Salamon even more of a head-scratcher. He's good enough for Inter but not good enough for the Polish NT? I don't buy that.
looks like fornalik is just a stupid as smuda!
ReplyDeletedon't worry, Polanski will be back.
ReplyDeleteTyton doesn't deserve any place in the Squad, his last First-Team game against England. I'm from England and Szczesny was nervy all the time. Boruc has hit form and Kuszczak continuing great performances. I was so looking forward to watch the NT on TV for the 3rd time in my life.I am deeply dissapointed...
ReplyDeleteBoruc was added to the NT friendly vs Ireland
