Ekstraklasa applies to launch its own TV network

Ekstraklasa SA has submitted an application to the Polish National Broadcasting Council on the issuance of a license for Ekstraklasa TV channel, which will be distributed via satellite.

"With an application to the NBC we also submitted our development plans and profile of Ekstraklasa TV channel as well as a full set of documents describing the technical infrastructure, including a reserved signal on Eutelsat Hot Bird satellite. We focus on Ekstraklasa matches in the first place, but not only. Content should be fulfilled with other interesting sports events and commentary programmes," said Boguslaw Biszof, President of Ekstraklasa SA.

As of now, Ekstraklasa is being shown on Canal+, TVP and Polsat Sport.

  1. Interesting. Are there any other countries where their football federation has their own TV channel?
