Pre-game: Boruc, Pawlowski to start

The Polish national team kicks off an important year with couple noticeable changes in their lineup as they take on Ireland.

Game-time is set for 2:45 pm est.

- Artur Boruc will start in goal, making his first appearance since 2010. He'll play the first 45 minutes and then, Wojciech Szczesny will take over.

- Szymon Pawlowski, who's has scored in two consecutive games for the NT, will start on the wing, replacing Adrian Mierzejewski.

Poland's starting lineup, according to Pilka Nozna and Roman Kolton:
Artur Boruc - Sebastian Boenisch, Kamil Glik, Damien Perquis, Jakub Wawrzyniak - Grzegorz Krychowiak, Daniel Lukasik - Jakub Blaszczykowski, Ludovic Obraniak, Szymon Pawlowski - Robert Lewandowski

  7. They should have used the same players as vs Romania last weekend! More determination than this group of big league flops.

  8. Can somebody tell me why Wawrzyniak is still getting called up and still STARTING? He has made an innumerable amount of mistakes. In general though the entire defense needs some work, they need to learn what how the hell to clear the ball without passing inside the box.

  9. lewy finally got the service and he couldnt finish. this generation wont win anything for polska. tis a shame.szkoda

    1. People are way to critical of Lewy. He got one service. ONE. On Borussia Dortmund he gets at least 10 of those a game and finishes about 1 or 2 of them.

      Show me a striker that will finish all the time. Even Van Persie can't, he just has so many chances all the time.
