Polish NT still believes in qualifying for World Cup
The Polish national team held their annual the-day-before-the-game practice in San Marino today, preparing for what should be an easy three points in the books. With slim chances of qualifying for the World Cup, the players on the Polish national team still believe in a trip to Brazil next summer.
"We're going to fight till the very end," Grzegorz Krychowiak said. "I believe that we could surprise most people, but what huts the most is that we don't have full control of our destiny, and we must relay on other teams in our group."
Krychowiak is right, the Polish national team needs England to beat Ukraine tomorrow.
"Life has shown many times that even in seemingly hopeless situations, you can find a way out," Jakub Blaszczykowski said. "We can't put away our weapons too early, and I can assure that we'll fight to the very end of these qualifications."
Their first step to making a miracle comeback is against San Marino. Poland beat the 207th-ranked team in the world 5-0 in their first match-up. All four players who scored in that game are not with the national team at this time. Robert Lewandowski, who scored twice, is out with an injury, and same goes for Lukasz Piszczek and Jakub Kosecki. Meanwhile, Lukasz Teodorczyk was not called up due of poor form with Lech Poznan.
Game-time is set for 2:45 pm est.
